Neglect??

I would say so! I just can't believe that I haven't posted for almost a month. Our family has been having a great time visiting extended family and I have enjoyed the break! We miss them all and the girls love to spend time with everyone. Of course, I am itchin' to get back to my sewing machine!
Wednesday night we went to visit my grandma. She has been a sewer for most of her life, managed a fabric store, made doll clothes, etc. In the past few years her health has gotten worse and she invited us to come and look through the fabric stash she has collected through the decades - yes decades-! I was so excited, but am unfortunately limited to 2 suitcases! Anyway, my sister and I found shelves and piles and even a huge wooden crate full of fabric! Cotton, corduroy, knit, terry cloth, burlap, silk, tulle, faux fur, knit, lace, eyelet, polyester, and did I mention knit! We had many good laughs and a few trips "down memory lane" as we found pieces of fabric that came from items she had made for us. Because I had been craving a good "sew" I whipped up a shirt for my sister and I out of this funky yellow and gray knit (found way too much of this!).
While here visiting, I had my dad (a photographer) take pictures of my newest love - a full ABC Quiet Book! Goodness, this baby has been filed away in my mind for quite a while now, but I decided to make it a summer project and have it ready for the fall. It took an unreal amount of hours planning, cutting, sewing, embroidering, etc. and I am so glad to have it complete. I will be listing it in the shop on our One Year Anniversary - August 28th - so you'll have to wait to see the entire book then. It will be worth the wait...I promise!

I love your designs! You do such a nice job. :) What kind of felt do you use for your books? Acrylic or wool?

Thanks Leanne! I use mostly acrylic because it comes in more colors and keeps my costs down, but I myself love wool!
