Teenage Boy Challenge

I have a 19 year old little brother, so I know that they can be a bit challenging sometimes. But this last month, I was presented with an even bigger challenge. My sister's co-worker asked about SW Designs and wanted to know if I could create a queen size quilt for her son who is graduating from high school in June. At first the task seemed pretty daunting, but then I got more excited for the challenge....what kind of fabric do you use for an 18 year old boy? {You know I mostly do little kids and babies!} After searching, I finally found a combination of navy, royal and light blue with a touch of dark yellow and aqua. My hubby didn't care for it much, but after piecing the quilt and adding the navy sashing, he said {to my delight}, "Wow! That really came together...it is growing on me." That made my day and gave me the motivation to work like gang busters to get it done early. Three weeks later this was the result...

Happy Graduation, Alex!
